As you are no doubt aware, the UK’s annual Eastercon – this year called Olympus 2012 – takes place this coming weekend at the Radisson Edwardian Hotel in Heathrow, London. Membership has apparently sold out. Fortunately, I bought mine several months ago.
I won’t be at Olympus 2012 just to launch Rocket Science, however. Or my novella, Adrift on the Sea of Rains. I’ll also be on a couple of panels. And, of course, I’ll be in the audience at the BSFA Awards ceremony, on hand in case SF Mistressworks actually wins the non-fiction award. Anyway, my schedule looks like this:
Saturday 7 April
5pm How Not to Suppress Women’s Writing, Royal B+C room
with Penny Hill, Amy McCulloch, Juliet E McKenna and Tricia Sullivan
Sunday 8 April
12pm (noon) Rocket Science launch, Room 12 (Tetworth)
several of the contributors will be present to read excerpts from their stories
3pm The Science of Rocket Science, Room 12 (Tetworth)
with Iain Cairns, David L Clements, Martin McGrath and Deborah Walker
For the rest of the convention, I shall either be wandering around the dealers’ room – probably trying to hunt down copies of The Women’s Press sf novels – or in the bar. Don’t forget to say hello.
