This year is almost over, but what will the new year bring? I already have more than a dozen titles from 2012 on my wish list. They are (in alphabetical order by surname of author):

- Dark Eden, Chris Beckett
- alt.human, Keith Brooke
- Black Opera, Mary Gentle
- The Thousand Emperors, Gary Gibson – the sequel to Final Days
- Ison of the Isles, Carolyn Ives Gilman – sequel to Isles of the Forsaken, which I liked very much; I’ve already pre-ordered it
- Empty Space, M John Harrison – a new novel following Light and Nova Swing
- One Who Disappeared, David Herter – the much-delayed end to Herter’s East European fantasy trilogy
- The Games, Ted Kosmatka
- In the Mouth of the Whale, Paul McAuley
- Intrusion, Ken MacLeod
- Ghost Doing the Orange Dance, Paul Park
- Blue Remembered Earth, Alastair Reynolds – the start of a new trilogy, Poseidon’s Children
- 2312, Kim Stanley Robinson
- Slow Apocalypse / One Minute to Midnight, John Varley – I don’t think the title has been decided yet
- The Spacesuit Film, Gary Westfahl

Some interesting and intriguing titles there. I shall be interested to see Gary Westfahl’s contribution, as a firm follower of his column in Interzone in the Nineties and Noughties.
